If you thought Ikkitousen and Koihime Musou were the (il)logical extensions of Three Kingdoms lore, then the animated movie Gundam: Brave Battle Warriors is here to prove you wrong. Fully titled as Chou Deneihan SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors, is a mix of “chibi” robots based on the popular Gundam franchise and the era of Chinese history popularized by the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

The official website states that the three main characters will be “Ryoubi Gundam” (based off of Liu Bei), “Kanu Gundam” (Guan Yu), and “Chouhi Gundam” (Zhang Fei).

Chou Deneihan SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors is slated for a nationwide release in Japan on February 27, 2010 alongside the latest Sgt. Frog movie.
