While the recent Fresh Pretty Cure character designs are quite different when compared to its predecessors in the popular Pretty Cure franchise, an image of the main characters for the next iteration in the series reveals the most strikingly changes in art direction so far. Titled Heartcatch Precure!, the visual design for the characters more closely resembles the designs from Powerpuff Girls Z, but is much more simple and stylized while also putting a greater emphasis on bright, pastel colors.

Pretty Cure is a long-running magical girl series which from its inception in 2004 has been among the most popular anime on TV and one of the most successful ever in terms of merchandising. Heartcatch Pretty Cure! would be its 7^th series, with each one running approximately 50 episodes.

Heartcatch Precure! is set to begin airing on February 7, 2010.
