Keanu Reeves recently confirmed to MTV News that the live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop is still in development, with Reeves set to play Spike Spiegel.

According to the actor, screenwriter Peter Craig adapted the series’ broad universe so faithfully that the studio found it too expensive to make.  Craig is currently working on rewrites.

Reeves promises that all characters will remain in the movie.  ”There’s a great draft, so we’re just trying to pull it back a little bit now.”
